Bell LakeTo make it simple, MBA offers two options: a guided, catered backcountry experience trip, or a self-guided, self sufficient yurt rental option.

Fully Inclusive Trips

The full service backcountry trip is offered as either a three day, two night package at $500./person, ($1500. minimum for exclusive use), or a four day, three night package at $650./person, $1950 minimum. We meet at Cafe 287 in Harrison, MT for coffee and a quick logistic and safety briefing. From there we will carpool to the trailhead. After parking, a 3 mile snowmobile transport to the Bell Lake approach puts you at the base of the Bell Lake drainage with a little less than 3 mile, 1700ft skin to the yurt. After settling in with a brief camp orientation, the time is yours to explore the terrain before a gourmet dinner is served that night. Our meals are hearty and tasty, with hot breakfasts and dinners, and sack lunches for time out on the hill. We do our best to serve local meat, baked goods, and organic veggies. Vegetarians and vegan meals are available upon prior request. BYOB. Your camp host will prepare meals, do dishes, tell stories, discuss objectives, and offer ski guiding services to keep you safe and get you to the goods so you may enjoy your time and energy skiing while we take care of the rest.

Overnight Yurt Rentals

The self-service yurt rental option is a great way for experienced backcountry enthusiasts to take advantage of convenient, comfortable accommodations in choice terrain. We do, however, require an Orientation Guide to accompany your group for all first time visitors to the Bell Lake Yurt for $75. This Orientation Guide will show your group the safest route to the yurt and will go over yurt operating procedures. Unguided groups also require a "leader" with First Aid and Avalanche 1 certification.

The Bell Lake Yurt offers 450 square feet of luxury backcountry comfort, and comes with the following amenities:

  • 6 comfy cots (bring your own sleeping bag)
  • An efficient wood stove with attached snow melter/water boiler and woodstack
  • A propane cook stove/BBQ and gas supply for cooking (yes, we lug up the propane bottles just for you!)
    Cookware and utensils. Lanterns
  • There is a creek close by to save time boiling snow
  • Snow shovels and a pit toilet for dump maintenance

  • Pricing for unguided overnight lodging at the Bell Lake Yurt is $35/person with a $105 minimum per night.
  • Equipment and Supply Portage in addition to snowmobile transportation services are available upon prior request and offered at $40 per person to the hiking-based trailhead (can be broken up at $20 for each service; snowmobile transport or equipment portage).
